Groundwork

This is a game I've been wanting to build for a very long time. Still a lot of mechanics to work out; need to make the game loop fun and get the balance right, but I've finally made a start.

I'm a fan of auto battlers and old simulation management games. I remember the first football manager game I played was just 22 little square dots on a flat green rectangle; it's the only football game I really got into. The idea that those tiny specs seemed to have minds of their own blew my mind when I was a kid. That's the kind of feeling I want to achieve: I want to make each drone feel sentient. I've got a long way to go…

Anyway, the idea—for now—is simple. Draft your squad of autonomous drones, predict and counter your opponent's picks. So far, we have a single-player game with a Dota 2-style ban/pick drafting system, the first to three wins (see the README.md for details on the mechanics)

I've kept the scope of the prototype small so that, for once in my life, I'd actually finish the damn thing. After a long slog over the last weekend and the last couple of evenings, I've managed to publish something, go me.

Now that I'm set up, I plan to make this a fully fledged title and release it for sale. There's a long road ahead, but I've made the first steps.
